Hyperliquid funding fee calculator

Estimate what holding a Hyperliquid perpetual position costs or earns in funding, plus the trading fees to open and close it. Pick a market, a side, a size and a holding period; the current hourly rate is filled in from Hyperliquid's public API.

How the estimate works

Funding

Hyperliquid settles funding every hour on the position's notional value. A positive rate means longs pay shorts; a negative rate means shorts pay longs. The calculator multiplies the notional by the hourly rate and the number of hours, holding both constant. Real rates change every hour and the notional moves with the price, so treat the result as an illustration of today's rate, not a forecast.

Fees and break-even

Opening and closing each pay the Hyperliquid trading fee on the filled notional, and Perpex adds its builder fee on each side. The default Hyperliquid fee is the base-tier taker rate; maker orders and higher volume tiers pay less, so enter your own rate if you know it. The break-even move is how far the price must move in your favour before funding and fees are covered.

Indicative public market data, not an executable quote. Values may change before an order is placed.

Frequently asked questions

How is funding calculated on Hyperliquid?

Every hour, each open position pays or receives the position's notional value multiplied by that hour's funding rate. A positive rate means longs pay shorts; a negative rate means shorts pay longs. The rate combines a premium component with a fixed interest component.

Does leverage change the funding I pay?

No. Funding is charged on the position's notional value, not on the margin. Leverage only changes how large the funding is relative to your margin, which the calculator shows as the result on margin.

Why can the Binance and Bybit options be empty?

Those options use each venue's predicted rate for its next funding interval, converted to a per-hour rate. They are only available for markets that Hyperliquid's predicted-funding feed lists for that venue.
